Papantonio: Alan Grayson is Pissed Off!

Earlier this year, the Supreme Court made a disastrous ruling in the Citizens’ United case that will allow corporations to funnel as much money into political campaigns as they want. Luckily, there are still some members of Congress who are working to bring our democracy back to the people, and not to corporate America. One of those people is Congressman Alan Grayson, who co-sponsored the Shareholder Protection Act, which will prevent companies from giving to political campaigns without the support of their shareholders, and he recently spoke to Mike Papantonio about his efforts. Excellent interview with Mike and Alan Grayson! Alan points out what people with progressive ideals are up against. The DCCC doesn’t even support progressive candidates! This is the insidious presence of Rahm Emanuel who is attempting to undermine ANY progressive agnenda in this country, especially from his guy Obama. The lack of support of good men like Alan Grayson and Dennis Kucinich tells you everything you need to know about where the Rahm Emanuel lead WH is taking this country. BTW, it’s fact that it’s Obama who wants to cut Social Security to make room for the continuation for the Bush tax cuts for the rich. Here’s the link.

If there wasn’t all this Republican deregulation going on, there would be fewer recalls in the products we buy from corporations, from the recent egg recall to Toyotas with dangerous accelerators, and Wall St. and corporate greed.

I think I may donate to Grayson’s money bomb campaign soon…

As for Mitch McConnell, like Jon Stewart mentioned, this is the animal of his prestige:

Glad you liked the Dana Carvey clip in that turtle scene of “The Master of Disguise” movie, Colleen.

As for the keyboard cat, I haven’t came across any on Youtube that have it playing off people like Mitch McConnell or John Boehner. And, they say there are at least 900 play him/her/them off keyboard cat videos out there.

Mara, I donated $5 to him yesterday. I also like seeing the progress of how much money Grayson is making on his money bomb website towards $300,000.

    From Hour 3 of the 8/21 Podcast – Mike’s Interview w/Rep. Alan Grayson -

Rep. Alan Grayson is FUNNY!!!! I had to stop the podcast and get done laughing when, in response to Mike’s list of Losers who are running against Grayson’s seat, he says:

“Yeah, all these people (Grayson is being GENEROUS, here) have one thing in common – the reason why they think they should be in Congress is that they think they should be in Congress.”

    !!!!!!

    :D :D :D :D :D (Okay, on that line, Alone, I’m Donating to Grayson’s Money Bomb)!!!!
It can’t be much, but it will be satisfying to me!

Of course, there are so many Great reasons to support Rep. Alan Grayson. I don’t want to see him go away. I want him to stay in politics and run for President just as soon as he can. If not that, then just stay in politics and save US all from these deranged republicans!!!

Very much appreciated are Mike’s words on Robert Gibb’s ill thought-out words – I also liked what Rep. Grayson had to say on That, as well!!!

No Republican support for Grayson’s bill in the House – well, that’s expected. Really, this bill simply Discloses who is behind the Citizens United spending, if I understand it correctly, and there Shouldn’t be any *Legitimate* battle Against That!!!

I LOVE that Rep. Grayson mentions how no one from Bush to Cheney have been punished. EXCELLENT!!!!!

This guy is one to support, for sure, and I also Love that Mike supports him, from press to campaign donations!

    NR,

That’s GREAT that you donated to Rep. Alan Grayson!!! As I just wrote, I sincerely and deeply think he is one to Really Support!!!

This guy really talks Direct, and I think, even if he Wanted to go back on his word, someday (NOT saying he would, be we all know how politicians can be) – I doubt he truly could – because I hear the directness in his voice, and it reminds me of the same kind of directness I hear in other Truth Tellers!

I think, for Rep. Grayson to betray himself – that would be hard for him to do. And we all would hold him Accountable, Too!!!

But I doubt he will Stop being who he is. Unlike Obama and The Dems, he Knows who backs him – Progressives!!!! And he’s trying to get most of his money from the People – US!

So I support him. And I’m happy to do so, as best I can.

And I hope Barack Obama takes lessons from Alan Grayson on how to be a Politician of the People! Grayson knows that the Populist take is the way to go – Morally and Politically!

Where does Grayson stand on the issue of free trade? http://www.ontheissues.org does not have any position from him. I hope he is against it.

    Colleen,

Read your link on Social Security. What upsets me, among other things, is that the AARP organization, which advocates for old people (okay, “seniors”; rather dislike that term) – is backing cuts to SS. That’s not fair. Reduce the benefits of SS to well off retirees, but don’t hurt poor people!

Also, increasing the retirement age – what an Awful idea! One toils away the bulk of one’s friggin miserable life, working a job that barely pays enough to get by…..plus, if you lose your job, you can retire and get benefits, but Not if you are too young!

Retirement is a dream that is ever elusive. I Hate that my whole life has to be spent in toil. I mean, don’t get me wrong – I’m glad to have a job – but jobs deaden people’s spirits – we are Forced to have them and Suffer when we don’t – but it’s hardly a great situation to be in, to work endlessly for the rest of one’s life.

After putting in your time, you need to be “sprung free” but if benefits are reduced you will Always be working, and/or dead. 67? Might as well just look at the brochures on cemetery lots and pick your damn coffin. Because, after a lifetime of dreary work, that’s All you might be up for, at 67.

I believe in hard work, but I also believe in living a meaningful life. Endless toil is unfair, and one needs a younger retirement age to look forward to.

    Mara,
I totally agree with your post here. We belong to AARP and we are so disappointed that AARP is for cutting SS. If the benefits are cut to the ones who really don’t need it, that’s fine and good. But don’t cut the benefits to the retirees who are struggling as it is.

    Colleen,

Exactly. It’s not fair to cut benefits for those already struggling.

I guess the Senator from SEIU is fine, typical of you libtards to employ a double standard. Enjoy Grayson while you have him, he’s out in 60 days!
