Republicans have done an amazing job in the last few months of alienating essentially every voter that isn’t a wealthy, older, white male. Their voter ID laws have affectively alienated minorities, their regressive policies towards women have pushed female voters away from them, and their lack of concern over education and student loans has left young voters looking elsewhere for politicians to vote for. So, at the end of the day, do Republicans have any shot at winning over the hearts and minds of young voters? Mike Papantonio attempts to answer that question with Ben Adler, a contributing writer for the Nation magazine.

Not asking for ‘plenty.’ How about just one argument that is IN THIS VIDEO that supports the assertion of the title? Point to it in the timeline. Somewhere in that ten minutes of video, where does the trial lawyer make that case?
Mike has plenty of arguments why the young voters are leaving the GOP; unfortunately, the Republicons don’t care if young people leave the GOPs. Mike is an excellent lawyer compare
to slip and fall lawyers that can’t or wouldn’t turn our country around (Republicons and Blue Dog Democrats).
With regards to energy independence, we need to invest in wind and solar power not this drill baby drill oil especially after BP cut safety standards in a deliberate, systematic way which led to the big Gulf oil spill. Look at all the fish and birds that got murdered from that oil spill. We also need to invest in electric cars, buses, and mass public transportation system. The oil will run out and that is a fact. Norway is taking its oil revenues from the North Sea oil fields and put it into an alternative energy fund. Are we doing the same thing, the answer is a big, fat NO!!! BTW, do you have any proof that thousands of birds died from running into those windmills. I don’t think so and birds are not that stupid.
Maybe ‘G’ knows why young voters are leaving the GOP? Papantonio doesn’t seem to have an argument to support that claim. And for a slip and fall lawyer, that’s remarkable in and of itself.

Ross, adults are easy to lie to which is why they keep voting against their own economic interests. Republicons are not interested in the white working people votes except to advance their own agenda and their own corporate clients. It is the Republicon Party that has stopped the country from getting out of the economic mess create by the Republicon Party, Blue Dog Democrats, and Corporate Ameria.

Gayle, it is not the government’s responsibility to bailout corporations and rich people everytime they screw up the American economy and their own business for make decisions that they knew what was wrong in the first place, but they did it anyway. No one put a gun to the corporate leaders and rich people and told them to screw up their companies and the American economy. Those people need to grow up. BTW, any person/corporation who misuses their power and responsibility should have their business licenses revoke because like a driver’s license, a business license is a priviledge not a right. BTW, we used to have free college education until that idiot Reagan decided to make people pay for it. Yeah right, like we all have a million dollars to pay for it. Many Western and Scandivan countries have free college education. If they can do it, so can we.
thought I would leave an update for anyone who cared. Boy have things changed in my life. I am in a much better place now and am starting the next step and that is the emotional healing from the ptsd of child abuse.
I was dying here, and my soul and spirit be sucked out of me, and I decided to fight back and that is what I am doing. I took charge of my own medical care and detoxed from all the pain pills. It has been since 98 when I received a neck and shoulder injury and the first 12 years told it was fibro and started on the pain pill candy store. Then when they finally do an mri, that is 3 years ago and still no surgery to correct the problem. In our family we are allergic to some drugs and for us, it can be deadly. After 30 days of detoxing myself, I feel better then I have since I was 10 years old. I am able to do it myself as I was a pharm tech and have a good pharm team I work with. People already see my color coming back.
I can’t make my mom like me. she loves me, but we are like oil/water we won’t ever mix. No matter what I try to do, to make her happy with me, it will never happen because the problem is within her heart, not mine. I have always chose my way, and to march to my own beat or drumer.
I finally stood up to my family and said you need to help me get treatment for the ptsd of child abuse. I couldn’t understand why me and my friend Cheryl were allowed to be abused year after year by our moms, and she said they didn’t have any child abuse laws until 74. When we were small children it wasn’t against the Law for our moms to tortue us and kill the inner child within. We are kind of at a standstill as Cameron is the only one I am talking to as he is the only healing energy I feel between my mom and sister who are like physic vamphire who suck me dry.
I am blogging about this as I want others who not by choice but because of the lousy health care that finds it cheaper to make you a drug addict then correct the injury, to see the truth and how easy it is to get off the path they are on.
I am a Celtic fighter woman, and I have more courage and strength in my little toe, then most have in their whole bodies. That is why I am made of good strong iron. I got others to see the truth and leave White Nationalism, and I hope that the journey of oxycodone withdrawals and how wonderful I feel now, that step one is completed, and start step two which is the emotional healing, will give them the strengh they need to make the right choice.
I had a friend I knew in Maine in the 70′s. Those who know me, know I am waiting for the right man. As a Catholic woman I feel it is a very important give to give the man God has chosen me, so I have people I talk to as I have a good mind. Scott and I would walk the beach with the dogs for hours, have good conversations about many topics and listen to good classic rock. The following Summer when my friend Ann and I came up from MA someone told me he had killed himself. I thought if I had been there could I have saved him? NO, I couldn’t save him, Scott had to want to save himself and find the strengh to fight his own battle.
I go to this sober/recovery forum now. Totally left White Nationalist’s behind as I have done enough research and hopefully that too can enter a new phase when I am well in body, mind and spirit. Anyway, I have had two people I know not be strong enough to get off the pain pills, while me and my friend Cheryl who were made strong by the abuse of our mom’s choose to always fight for life.
Some of you didn’t think I would find a way out until my mom died. I am a quiet person. White Nationalists made the mistake to think that made me stupid, but I have a very good and sound mind. It means I am learning. I sort things out in my own time and way.
I know my dad is looking down on me from heaven. He was my protector when he lived. when he died, I no longer had one so it was on a trip to the twilight zone. Yet, like everything learn and take everything in and then at point I turn around and start fighting.

According to this video, the ‘GOP’ in the title of this article should read ‘Obama.’
I just wasted 10 minutes of my time hearing about concerns that the youth vote is leaving Obama. That the youth support isn’t as strong as it was in 2008, AND, that the young voters that probably were not old enough to vote for Obama last time, are mush less interested in Obama this time.
The best part is the fraud at the top of the page. Pap reads from the list of faux controversies that the media stirred up on almost a weekly basis. Republicans did not do any of that. They were created by ABC and NBC for the most part, as straw men issues designed to distract the voters from the miserable failure of a ‘recovery’ we are in, thanks to Obama’s policies. NOT,(for the lemmings out there) the color of his skin.
Know why the youth vote is so important to OBAMA? It’s because they, for the most part, are easy to lie to and always enthusiastic at campaign events. You rarely see Obama speaking to adults outside of a college campus or a union hall. His campaign has made it plain, they’re not interested in getting the votes of white working people.
Because they know better than the kids what this man is all about.
