In the last few weeks, gas prices have been slowly falling, but most Americans are still feeling pain at the pump. Republican talking heads would have you believe that this pain is the result of President Obama’s so-called hostility towards oil companies, but the truth is that the bankers and speculators on Wall Street are the heart of the problem. Oil speculators are able to make a quick buck on oil futures, and this helps drive the cost up for all of us. Mike Papantonio discusses the role that speculators play in raising our gas prices, as well as what we can do about it, with Tyson Slocum, director of Public Citizen’s energy program.

You’d wonder why it seems easier to blame/judge laziness over greed. On Real Time with Bill Maher the other night, they were discussing why America constantly blames and punishes failure, where those in the bottom 50-99% who fail in America are brought down hard and not really given much of any opportunity to try again, particularly how difficult it really is for most people to find work elsewhere if/when they are fired or laid off from their employer that got shut down and likely shipped overseas…So, for those being ignorant to tell an Occupy demonstration “get a job” one of them can say, “make an offer” (even though there happens to be more employed and underemployed people in the Occupy movement than there are in the tea party).

didn’t have time to listen myself, but I have
listened to enough David Duke and White
Nationalist nazis to last a life time, but it
is so important to me that I shine the light
so that someone who has resources can join the
fight and help us fight these evil men.
