Papantonio: Republicans Bury Their Heads In The Sand on Climate Change

Recently, legislators in Virginia proposed a plan that would prevent the government from monitoring sea level rises that resulted from climate change. In other parts of the country, Republican officials are trying to prevent science teachers and other educators from being able to talk about climate change in the classroom. This is all part of the attack on science that is being launched by Republicans across the country, and its an attack that has resulted from Republicans believing that they actually know more about science than professionals. Mike Papantonio talks about why Republicans think this way with Chris Mooney, author of the new book “The Republican Brain.”

James says:

The Democrat-endorsed #Occupy movement has racked up quite an impressive record:

- 12 deaths, 6 found dead in tents, Two found dead after several days
– 2 murders (Not counting the protester who strangled his parents and stuffed them in a car)
– Tens of millions of dollars in damages, layoffs, vandalism, law breaking
– Multiple Rapes
– Thousands of arrests
– Public masturbation
– Feces
– Child molestation and baby abuse

Then there’s this…

Cops have linked DNA found on Sarah Fox’s CD player to DNA from a chain seized at a protest. (NY Daily News)

New York detectives matched DNA found at the scene of a Julliard Student’s murder in 2004 to DNA found at the crime scene of recent #Occupy protest vandalism.
The New York Daily News reported:

First DNA sample was found on Sarah Fox’s CD player, near her body in Inwood Hill Park; the DNA matched another sample taken from a chain used to prop open a subway station gate in Brooklyn on March 28

In a bizarre twist to a cold case, detectives have matched DNA found at the scene of Juilliard student Sarah Fox’s 2004 murder to genetic material on a chain seized at an Occupy Wall Street protest earlier this year, law enforcement sources said.

The first DNA sample was obtained from Fox’s pink CD player, found in the brush not far from her body in Inwood Hill Park.

Police had not found any matches to DNA collected from other investigations for eight years.

But now they have.

DNA collected from a chain an OWS protester left at the Beverley Road subway station in Flatbush, Brooklyn, on March 28 is a match to the material found on the CD player, the sources said.

Do you suppose his fellow #occupiers will turn him in? Me neither.

James says:

Al Gore certainly seems to believe that he understands these things better than actual scientists.

NR says:

As I’ve come to realize, smaller minds result in bigger mouths and greater impulses.

Sometime last year, somewhere in England, they did research and brain scans on the minds of some of their liberals and conservatives where liberals are more logical-focused and conservatives are more fear-focused. I would wonder if America would perform a similar experiment that England did for a group of liberals and conservatives to get brain scans (possibly with the participants getting paid for it if enough money is allocated for such a project).

As Stephen Hawkings said, “the enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.”
